National Senior Citizens Day — What hill, where? I didn’t see any hill … (Probably because vision usually gets worse as one gets older.) Since it’s our day, we’ll be a cantankerous and curmudgeonly as we want. After all, there’s not much else we can do, except—(hereby hangs a tail …) Never forget that it is never too late to have a happy childhood. So what are some things you do that most “old folks” don’t? Me? I’m going for a sixteen mile bike ride. It will take me an hour, including stops for traffic.

National Spumoni Day —Actually not ice cream, but gelato (lower fat). Traditionally cherry, vanilla, and pistachio flavors, with bits of fruit and nuts. Never really cared for it, I’m more of a Neopolitan fan. Ironically, Neopolitan appears to be a US derivation, though named after Naples, Italy.

Barnyard Dance Day —Please change your clothes _before_coming into the house. This reminds me of the dance scene in “Paint Your Wagon,” music by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, the only ones in the scene who stayed clean.

It’s nice to see the swanky patrons enjoying themselves at Rick’s Cat-fe American.
