I love those Christmas light bugs!

I miss Christmas light bugs so much. I haven’t seen any since Indiana. 18 years. There aren’t any out here.

Beatrix and Trevor are so cute together.

I wonder when Burt sleeps? He seems to be 24-7…

Elvis-Anum: Am I seeing double? (Poofs).

Thomios: No, this is my descendant from the future, Tommy. (He can get grumpy, but he’s really a great cat).

Tommy: I guess the apple never falls far from the tree.

Elvis-Anum: What was that?

Tommy: Uh, I said would you like an apple tart and a cup of tea?

Elvis: Thanks. Don’t mind if I do.

Christmas in July! And my present is kitty beans all over the place, even on the cups!

A warm kitten on your head, good friends, tea, coco, and Christmas tree bugs on a clear starry night! Nothing could be better!

There aren’t many Christmas light bugs left around here. My brother and I used to catch a few of them and put them in a jar with some grass, and we would always let them go when we had to come in for the night; that was over fifty years ago.

Grandkids, if they come along, are a decade or more in the future. I doubt they will be able to have the summer night experience of Christmas light bugs, and that makes me very sad.

I do love the Christmas light bugs, although thanks to the late sunlight (I am on the western end of a time zone) I am mostly seeing them during the day. Not to get all emotional, but my favorite part is the “To Be Continued Tomorrow” in the bottom of panel four. That panel now features two characters who have crossed the rainbow bridge, four total in the strip, but their stories will be continued tomorrow and for as long as this strip lasts. It’s a beautiful thing.

Best rerun I’ve ever seen!

I just saw some “July Bugs” on the plants near our church! Will we be seeing that nuisance here soon?

Wait! Are those? Could they be? Sir Figaro toe beans!

My family lived in Illinois for 6 years when I was a kid. A kid from the Bay Area had trouble adjusting to actual seasons. We moved back to CA when I was 16 and I’ve never left. The only things I miss about summer in Illinois are fireflies and thunderstorms.

Well there either looking for love or looking for a meal. One species of Firefly uses its light to lure prey to them. Other fireflies.

I’m so very sorry for your loss. You gave Pru a loving, warm, dry, and safe home. Her belly was full. That’s everything a cat can hope for. Please take comfort in knowing you gave her the best life and that all of us here support you and know you did your best.
