I call Ora Z, and Lupin, for my box fort captains!

This is all rhetorical because we used to have horses and barn cats, but I always felt/feel a little sorry for them, though we took very good care of ours. But I always wanted to scoop them all up and hug and squeeze them and bring them in when it was cold and just love them, even if that wasn’t their thing. I just want to do the same to Baba. Okay, all done. Carry on.

Lupin’s smile in that first panel kills me. It’s nice to see him have a heart again. Baba’s is also great. She’s just happy her home is going to a good home. Homes!

I also almost forgot about the move for a second. I mean I knew it had to happen sometime soon given all the build up.

“Boxes are never empty because they’re always full of adventure!” I put that up with the very best of BCN quotes. Glad that Baba and Burt are onboard, because we know Elvis and Lupin are up for box forts. Also, I guess it’s cool that the people are fostering the new cats. Not as exciting as box forts, but I am amused by the seeming kitty stage faint in panel 3.

I wonder how Elvis feels about the new additions. It’s nice to see that the plans for purchasing the BPH are coming around nicely.

The worst part of moving is when everything is in boxes. Oh, you’ve still got all your stuff; only it has lost all its utility. :)

I’ve been wondering, are there any pictures of the real life Baba Mouse? With her being more prominent in these recent strips it just got me thinking about what she looks (looked?) like in real life compared to her anthropomorphic self.

I am not a creature typically prone to excitement, but I spy a bag of sour cream and onion potato chips resting and waiting on the kitchen counter…

My patience has been rewarded with a bowl of potato chips; my favorite variety.

Snapping turtles are a patient species. We have been here 90 million years.

Survived, thrived, evolved, and now: I live in the same era sour cream potato chips exist.

…Which—not to go on about this again, however, seeing a correlation, I must point out thus—once again goes to show, if I, a pre-historic creature can sit here enjoying a bowl of crispy potatoes, how is it possible folks still question the existence of Nessie? Mothman? Bigfoot?

All manners of nature survive under the darkest of times and shifts. From the smallest budgie bird to the largest invisible man of Everest; who is a gigantic, never before seen man I have heard tell of many a time… These gentle, delicate, huge miracles of nature persist.

And they all love their snacky-snacks, too, their creature comforts, small and enormous.

I have it on trusted authority that the New Jersey Devil is a huge fan of Dorito 3D Jalapeño cheddars and STILL wanders the lands of the east coast searching for this favored snack chip.

We are all not so different. Nature is not to be feared, only marveled at in robust wonder!

It’s gotta be a box fort. That would be amazing!

Baba knows all understands all.

Right now it seems that the different levels of the addition are all open. Though it was never confirmed, I think at one point they were in the attic and they ended up in the purple room, which I think is on the first floor. Though I assume that the people are going to want privacy and if there aren’t already doors will at least be putting some doors by the stairways, but I kind of hope they put in cat doors so the various cats in the house can move around freely.

Get box, remove cat. Get packing tape, remove cat from box, remove packing tape from cat. Fill box, remove cat. Go find where ever the cat has drug the packing tape, remove tape from cat, remove cat from box and quickly slap a piece of tape on it to keep it shut. Take packing tape off and remove cat. Successfully close box. Count noses. Open box and remove cat.

Win/win indeed!

The People may not be planning a box fort, but I wouldn’t be surprised that the Boy and Girl are.

Ooh, I hope it’s the box fort. Let’s just hope they don’t end up at war with the pillow-fort people at Greendale Community College…
