Poor Pucky looks like he might faint! Wondering, is that Elvis passing him a drink? Inquiring minds want to know!

I had a ganglion cyst removed from the top of my wrist about thirty years ago. I have the most beautiful scar. I hope the Woman’s paw gives her no more trouble.♥

I’m lovin the Pucky Bear bit. Wondering if the people sometimes call him that? Makes me think of old possum. And though we can never know, I wonder what he calls himself?

I had some serious crap going on in one of my wrists, which ultimately required two surgeries and the removal of a tendon. I hope Georgia’s surgery gives her the same relief that mine did. Modern medicine really is cool.

I actually find cyst removals really fascinating. Except for the skin-cutting part. For some reason that’s the part that grosses me out. Don’t blame you for that one, Pucky-bear. I’m also pretty sure I had a wrist cyst once, but it apparently went away on its own.

This has been TMI Time with Jungle Empress.

It’s O. K. Pucky baby. I felt the same way when I first got into the medical field. There is a lot of icky things, but it’s for greater good and lessens suffering.

I feel sympathetic to poor Pucky. A dear close relative just had a cyst removed from their hand. When the bandage was removed they fainted, which is fairly common. As is the comfort of a cat who senses that there is trauma with their human. So cuddles and purring is the perfect medicine.

Poor Puck. It looks worse than it is, in many respects. He needs to be reassured that the Woman is free of the old pain, and the new pain from the surgery is temporary, and hopefully less intense.

Puck, it gets better now. Just purr under her hand. You’ll both feel better, and you may help her heal faster. Don’t let Ora eat her dressing material.

    Meanwhile, Back on the Nile

    At the Pretty Good Workshop

Iggy: I think you have a great idea to make Xyzlophones and have a band, Ora Z.

Ora Z: And I can pound scrap wood and make pretty sounds.

Iggy: Who’s going to be in your band?

Ora Z: Abby said she would like to join in when she is released from the Salubrious Pyramid. And maybe her friends will join us.

Iggy: Wally and Iron Glove said they might like to join as well.

Ora Z: Sounds like we have the start of a great band.

Mildly off-topic but still kind of pertinent: Both Bunny the talking dog and Billi the talking cat have been given buttons with the word “medicine”, and both have apparently expressed understanding that their medication, though bad-tasting, will help them feel better. Billi has even reminded her “mom” about her medication a time or two.

    .

Imagine if we could teach our pets that the vet is a place they go to help them stay healthy. I mean, they probably still wouldn’t like it- just like most people don’t like going to the doctor- but maybe there’d be less struggling to get them into carriers or onto leashes.

Poor Pucky-bear, especially given his backstory. For those not aware of it since it hasn’t come up in strip, in short, and warning for animal abuse: Puck was one of many kittens who lived in a backyard. His neighbor often looked at them, because who wouldn’t.. and one day noticed poor Pucky bear’s leg was injured and only got worse. Eventually realizing Puck’s original owner was never going to help the poor kitten, the man lept over the fence, scooped puck up and got him to Washington’s Puurfect Pals shelter. Puck barely surivived and had to have what was left of his leg amputated. Thankfully a few weeks after that Puck got fostered and eventually adopted by his family and was already the kind gentle boy we know and love. So my guess is while hearing about a cyst would be gross as is, hearing about anything related to a paw is triggering for Puck, and why new places frighten him. I could be wrong and he could have an entirely diffrent backstory here, but it comes off that way. It’s also likely why Elvis, his big brother and the cat who raised him, is the one to provide him water. Besides being best buddies of course. Elvis knows this is a lot for him and knows that he was likely sucker punched by the description of the surgery.
