I would think a stuffed snake would make a great scratching post. Kitties could lie on their backs with the stuffed snake on their chests and bunny kick the stuffing out of it.
Georgia ought to market a “hot stove scratching post” on Threadless. I’ll BUY it!! Trouble would totally scratch the heck out of that! :D
P.S. I’m patiently waiting for my Lupin backpack and Lupin tank top that says “Let’s Do This!” on it to arrive! Been waiting for that tee for like nine years! ♡〜٩( ˃́▿˂̀ )۶〜♡
This is another comic where I clearly hear someone else’s voice attached to the dialog: Panel 4, Elvis yelling “SERENITY NOW!” in Frank Costanza’s voice.
Agnes-Ata: How did you decide to create a Smiling Cactus sculpture?
Sophititi: We met the Smiling Cactus when we were visiting with Trevor-Hotep awhile ago. Would like to meet our model?
Agnes: Sure.
Soph: Sourire, this is Royal Procurer Agnes-Ata. Agnes, Sourire.
Agnes: Pleased to meet you.
Sourire: The pleasure is mine.
Agnes: How did you come to be here?
Sourire: With the help of the Ancient and Accepted Procurers’ Guild. More than that I cannot tell.
Agnes: Got ya. I’m sure the Artisans will make a lovely sculpture.
At the Royal Kitchen
Thomios: I think I’d like to host a cheese buffet and drawing with pastels event.
Sue Chef: You mean like a Chalk and Cheese buffet.
Thomios: Exactly. We need to figure out the best cheeses to serve.
Sue Chef: And a few other charcuterie items as well.
Violet-Ifa: Don’t be surprised if you hear the sound of giggling soon.
Thomios: There’s no telling when that happens. We will be most appreciative.
Vi: You know, I think what to serve at a Chalk and Cheese event may be just the topic for our next Cheese Taking seminar. I’ve got to find Alice and tell her.
While I welcome the inclusion of fresh blood. (e.g. Ora Zella & Iggy,) it’s nice to check in with the original crew—especially Elvis’s trenchant comments.
I gotta agree with Elvis here. Why in the world would humans give cats something that looks like something they KNOW they should avoid touching, and tell them to scratch it???

Lots of strange designs discussed. The cats really should start from scratch…

If the sleeping baby had bed bug bites, it would appreciate a little cat scratching.

It’s always fun to see Lupin as the measured voice of reason and Elvis as the drama.

Well, Elvis, just what was your point? Looks like you can nap inside of hot stove.

Elvis certainly doesn’t trust the new scratching post. Might as well just use the sofa.

If the china cabinet scratching post would keep them from scratching the real thing, I’d buy it. How about an antique furniture scratching post?

I love it when Elvis goes on a super-sarcastic tear! The whole fairy tale thing around stealing The Baby’s breath was a good rant.

Elvis had my laughing out loud. I can feel his frustration!
A real cactus would be a bad idea as a scratching post… just like all the others he mentions to make the point.
But it isn’t real, just plush, so no one is siding with him on this.
LOL! (again)

Elvis does have a point—a cactus does seems like an odd thing to model a scratching post on.
