I used to knit quite a bit when I was married. I made most of my clothes, but knitting was one thing I could do at parties while talking. Our Cuban friends had the men in one room discussing all kinds of topics and women in another discussing their children and hair styles. None of them sewed or tried any recipes other than their family’s..The most creative knit I did was a RWB pancho with many peace symbols and other things of the late 60s; I think it even had my name – got rid of it long ago. I would not consider using poly yarn for clothing now.
