First we had Real to real Quadruplex video tape, then the VHS and Betamax wars. Beta was better but VHS won. Then quickly went obsolete. In the 1980s we got Laser Video Disc 12-inch. Then DVD took over and begot the HD DVD vs Blue-Ray wars. Blue-ray won but is losing to downloadable video in FHD, QHD, UHD, 4K, 5K, 8K? What next will go obsolete.
