The paranormal refers to things outside the scope of normal scientific understanding. Ufology fits into that category because of all the pseudoscience inherent in it’s so-called “study”. But battling actual alien invasions would be within the scientific realm and not under the umbrella of the paranormal because you would have actual hard evidence.
