You wonder when pharma companies design the pills, do they attempt to design the side effects in, or out? The former is likely to be more lucrative as then they can sell you more pills.
Its fun to listen to the list of side effects and warnings that come with every tv ad for prescription medicine. Sort of like a tiny slice sci-fi horror.
So I’m going to need a pill to counter the side effects of the pill I’m already taking? Then I will need another pill for the side effects of that pill too. Does my insurance cover this?
I have learned some pharmaceutical lessons this year. I’ve been “treated” for headache with a variety of psychotropic compounds (anti-depressant, anti-convulsant). The side effects were so bad, my life would have been much, much worse, if they had “fixed” my headache. I’ve learned there are a LOT worse things than headache.
To be fair the Pharma companies should quote odds regarding the likelihood of each side effect so we can make a more educated guess on whether to take the medication or not.
But, sadly for many who are in this trap, they blame the medicine for their symptoms. And sometimes that confusion is itself a first indicator of dementia.
Bottom line, Oldbot is losing it. Expect a trail of oil soon.
Just LOVE to see/hear the list of possible side effects when they advertise a new medication. Some of them are far worse than what they are supposed to treat!

I hate when that happens.

Possible side effects include death. Instructions call for stopping use if you run into any of those side effects.
If I die, I fully intend to stop taking my medicine since it failed to keep me alive!!

Yes. My doctor once gave me a medicine for dizziness. One of the possible side effects was dizziness. I kid you not.

Note that one of the side effects shown on sleeping pills is drowsiness.

I hear these disclaimers, and I just chuck the bottle and deal with the illness! It’s safer!

Sometimes, not this time, the side effects are worth getting the ailment.
