I’d usually say something like “This strip has been sponsored by Tony the Tiger,” which, to be fair, I already have, but I’m with Buckles on this one. Seeing snow outside always brings out a quiet excitement and joy in me, especially around this time of year.

Buckles’ music doesn’t quite sound like a Christmas carol…..

Gilbert is truly an artist! Buckles drawings every time he has “danced” in the strip are always anatomically correct. Too bad “Buckles” is no longer being printed. But again sadly, with a lot of newspapers print editions going out and less and less sections devoted to comics it made have made some sense to seize drawing Buckles. Also this strip required a lot of artistic effort, since while still a modern strip, it had a very “realist” artistic style in its drawing.

Yes Buckles, it’s beautiful to look at, and to play in, be glad you don’t have to shovel it!

Buckles doing the happy dance is one of my favorite recurring themes along with the Dog Haiku.

Snow definitely brings out the little kid in all of us.

Buckles, better be careful going out if there is 4 feet of snow in your yard.

Please just don’t send snow my way. I still haven’t gotten a Flamethrower for Christmas, despite asking for one every year. Santa doesn’t think I can have it.

Love the last panel…you can have any snow that falls around my house, Buckles…and we are getting some tomorrow.
