Its a good thing Suzie cant see Hobbes .
Because Hobbes would not be able to stop from showing her how ferocious he is,and I think she is is better at defence than Calvin.
She gets the practise from Calvin and is more ferocious than Hobbes
A best friend who attacks you whe you come home, attacks you when you’re in creative (destrictive) thought, and while you trying to sleep. That’s not friend, that’s my wife.
Sometimes Hobbes turns Calvin’s world upside down.
BTW, if Calvin’s head is missing, how does he talk in the last panel? I suspect that his head is kind of buried in the sand (ground). Calvin should have an escape ‘claws’ in his contract.
Even if reincarnation were true, humans would go through an endless cycle ad infinitum and never achieve perfection.
“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment,
So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.” Hebrews 9:27,28
Puddleglum, I suspect that Calvin is laying on his head and neck, with his body curved over it. You can’t see his head because his torso is in the way.
GrethensMom and Johanan, some of the most stable and committed marriages I have known have been where the couples were always zinging each other at every opportunity and laughing about it then. They especially enjoyed doing it in the company of others.
Like I keep telling my wife who gets upset when people tease me (and sometimes when I tease her), people only tease people they like. I have never kidded or teased someone I had no use or respect for. After 50 years of it, she has mellowed and gets off a few good ones on me every once in a while. She has come to enjoy getting the better of me. LOL
Lewreader, I appreciate your humor and comments on this and a couple of other sites. I recognize it as teasing used by couples who share mutual respect and love.
It’s a game they play. Hobbes gets to feel good about his skills. Calvin gets to…reinforce his relationship with Hobbes by admitting defeat in this activity. You have to remember, they are different species with different instincts. I once read that instinct is the word you use when you don’t understand something that a species does.
Makes me wish that all the cats I’ve ever owned died when I was 4. Then again, as far as I’m aware, they may have been lazyer than my dog, who is 77 dog years now. Yeah, the stupid thing will never die.

Where is Calvin’s head in the last panel? Hobbes, you’re supposed to maul Calvin, not decapitate him.

So chase something with longer legs and thicker skin, Hobbes, like a Greyhound bus.

I think the better question might be: if she’s that bad then why is he still with her?!?!? A glutton for punishment perhaps?!?!?

Give the short legs a longer head start before you start pursuing.
