Just like my Dad. Except when he threw stuff, he didn’t miss.

Truth is a spice that few can stomach.

You should learn to avoid Dad when he’s fixing things, Calvin.

The truth hurts Calvin. And also the forseeable aftermath for having voiced it.

If it gets people mad at you, you’re probably telling the truth. ’Course lying will do that too.

With Calvin for a kid dad doesn’t even need a wife for making comments.

Most people act as though they prefer the flattery of lies than the slap of truth. Calvin will learn that tact is the ability to tell someone to go jump in the lake, and have them looking forward to the swim.

As always, bad timing and correct words by poor Calvin.

“Whatcha” is slang for “What are you”

Ouch, Dad must be in a really bad mood if he’s throwing things like a little kid.

You’re too outspoken! Maintain the content of your comments tempered with diplomacy and careful target selection.

I couldn’t tell my parents the truth.Wasn’t suppose to lie to them.Stop talking to them has worked for years.

Yes, the truth hurts, but this time it hurts the truth-teller.

What I like to sometimes say to people when they ask me such an annoyingly obvious question like that: “I’m baking a chocolate peanut butter cake! What does it look like I’m doing?!?!?”

Not a good time to say anything like that.Some of the comments make me think they have never tried to fix a kids bike.

We bought bikes for our three sons, they ruined them very quickly, my husband repaired them, but very soon the bikes were ruined again. So he could do nothing else as repair the bikes. One day he threw the tools away like Calvins dad and cried:“Do it yourselves!”

I know dad’s feelings, but I was always able to control myself without throwing things like that at my son.

It should be Calvin’s bike that dad’s repairing.

dad can’t handle the truth

That’s usually the way things go when I try to fix something out in the garage,,,, I always end up hurting my hand in someway or another !

a glimmer of a conscience ?

Calvin has a brain. He just needs to engage it before engaging his mouth. My Dad wasn’t very mechancal either, in spite of being a writer in a fairly technical field. Sometimes I helped him figure out the answer to something, but that’s the German in me…..

Poor Calvin. Once again, trying to be helpful, but instead is misunderstood.
