I agree about not feeding a troll, but I think it should be pointed out to him that he is doing his favorite strip no favors by making such a comparison. There are far, far better ways to promote a strip than by trying to prop it up against such a legendary and well-loved comic, while at the same time belittling that comic no less.
If I were the creator of HN I would not appreciate this “help”, even if it were well intentioned. Let the comic find its own niche. There is no need to promote it as the greatest strip of all time. That’s counterproductive. For saying something is the greatest is almost a sure recipe for disappointment, since people are going to view it more critically than they would otherwise.
Would you please quit referring to Hobbes (the commenter) as an “impostor”! Do you even know what the definition of that word means? It means to fraudulently deceive people into believing you’re someone/something you aren’t in order to scam them (usually out of money but it can also be for any number of other reasons not associated with money). He’s never claimed to be Bill Watterson or anyone personally associated to/with Bill Watterson! If anything, he’s gone out of his way on numerous occasions to squash the continuous, persistent “rumors” going around that he’s really B.W. in disguise in order to monitor this site and what people are saying about the comic and him (even though he quit drawing any new C & H strips almost 17 years ago) but they just won’t let that idea go. Personally, I believe him. I find him to be smart, funny, and extremely helpful. He’s never said anything mean or unkind about anyone or anything that I can remember . . . which is a whole lot more than I can say about you.
Have you ever considered that every single person here who goes by any name OTHER than what their parents gave them at birth is an “imposter” . . . and that includes YOU?! Whether we’ve chosen our “names” because of a favorite book/t.v./movie/comic/comic book character . . . favorite sports team . . . favorite hobby . . . a nickname we went by in childhood . . . our current career/station in life (such as me being Gretchen’s mom, for example) . . . or something that makes absolutely no sense at all to anybody but you . . . we’re ALL “wearing a disguise” here! That doesn’t mean we’re all a bunch of hucksters looking to scam the poor, pathetic masses out of something ( which is what you’re making Hobbes sound like). So what’s the big deal? Why are you always so bent out of shape where he’s concerned anyhow? What has he ever done to you to make you so mean and hateful where he’s concerned? Just wondering!
By the way, Hobbes’s occasional postings of other comics (such as Ziggy and Peanuts) are ALWAYS relevant to the day’s C & H strip and I don’t mind them at all. I really enjoy them and from some of the comments I’ve seen posted afterwards, other people here seem to like them too. What I object to is someone coming here — to the Calvin and Hobbes fan board — and declaring that some other comic is BETTER than this one! Don’t get me wrong. I think it’s absolutely fine that he likes another comic better. First Amendment . . . free speech . . . yadda, yadda, yadda. That’s certainly his right to feel that way. But why come here and say it?!?!? If he likes some other comic better, then more power to him! But I think he should just stay there and “like” it all he wants to!!! We, the fans of C & H (which is why we’re here. Right?) love this utterly, superbly classic comic just fine and don’t like being told that it sucks and Heavenly Nostrils is better!!!!! There’s a time and place for everything . . . and here’s not that time or that place to spout crap like that. And that’s just MY First Amendment/free speech right opinion! (Sorry it’s so long everyone!)
The reason for regulars letting people know where they are going or have been is that we care about each other. Someone missing for several days causes concern. Not for you however since you won’t be close to anyone here. Sadly, your loss.
I would miss rogue53 like I would miss my own rear end. Not much that comes out of it is pleasing, but really, what would I do without it? Keeps my legs out of my armpits. What I’m trying to say is: @rogue53: you know what you are.
Love and hate are antonyms to each other by definition. If love and indifference were opposites, then hate and indifference would be opposites as well.Since indifference doesn’t care, the opposite is caring.“If I Didn’t Care”, I wouldn’t have written this comment.

baby66boy1 – they’re all repeat strips, the comic ended nearly two decades ago

baby66boy1, a repeat of Calvin & Hobbes is infinitely more entertaining than a first run of Heavenly Nostrils.
I’m just dying to hear Mom’s idea.
