I remember as a small child in the mid-sixties, really really wanting the cat’s-eye-with-rhinestones glasses. (Hey—they were shiny, and I was three or four years old). The optometrist would always say, “Oh sorry honey, we don’t have those anymore.” What he meant was, your mom will kill me if I let your choose those! Also I think they were for older women, not in kids’ sizes.
