Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson for December 11, 2014
Transcript:
Calvin: "This whole business of Santa rewarding GOOD kids and neglecting bad kids really bugs me" Calvin: "...Not that I have to worry about, of course" Hobbes: "A paragon of virtue, that's you" Calvin: "Right! But see, there are certain things a good kid could do that might look BAD in a certain light, if one didn't consider all the mitigating circumstances" Hobbes: "Like keeping an incontinent toad in your mom's sweater drawer?" Calvin: "Exactly. If I was being raised in a better environment, I wouldn't do things like that"

Should have put a diaper on that toad.

I’m not convinced there’s a political component with people who blame their parents for how they’ve turned out…seen it on all sides.

There goes Calvin being his usual Pain-in-The-b&## self! Sounds like a lawyer to me…alas, all is lost! ;)

Most people who go spouting off about “liberals” wouldn’t know how to define one. It’s like “socialist” or “Marxist”, more words these same people sling around without knowing the first thing about them.

You guys are ruining a good comic strip with all your editorial page bombast. All of you, liberals, conservatives, penguin fetishists, Taoists, communists, all of you. Please don’t empty your bytch bags here.

One of the traps of political discussions is that those who have extreme opinions on both sides, liberal or conservative, may see themselves as a paragon of virtue compared to others. Like Calvin in today’s strip.

I almost forgotten what the comic is. Oh yea I think I remember. Calvin living in a different home make no difference. Not sure if other parent’s would raise you differently.

Well, this went downhill quite rapidly…

“Good kids” versus “Bad kids”? I am thinking Santa never sees any “bad” kids. If there is a “Santa”, and I believe there is, He would only see the “good” in all kids…

Would I be a bigot if I believed the only correct answer to 2+2 is 4? How about if i believed “ask” should not be pronounced like “axe”?

He needed absorbent material and putting the toad in the toilet paper bin would affect him.

I’ve always wondered why getting coal in December was supposed to be a punishment.
