Susie SAW him making the snowball, then hide behind the tree, waiting to ambush. She kept cool and waited for the right moment. She read Sun Tzu’s book; Calvin,……, well, he never reads much anyway!

An alternate ending would be to see a small avalanche of snow falling off the tree onto Calvin after he hits it with his snowball as Suzie watches from a short distance away.

Never a bad strip from Watterson. The story/dialogue/setting may lack inspiration, but the artwork is wonderful. Look at all the expressions on Calvin’s face! That takes talent.

Well, maybe it happened because Susie did not receive a Valentine from Calvin…

I just love that Suzie always gets the better of him, despite all his diabolical plans. It’s the stuff of comedy. She is such a great kid.
