Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson for March 10, 2015
Transcript:
Calvin: "Today for "show and tell" I refuse to show you what I brought and I refuse to tell you anything about it!" Calvin: "It's a mystery that will haunt you all your miserable lives! You'll never, EVER know what I brought! You can bag and plead, but I'll never end your torment!" Calvin: "I'll carry my secret to the grave! It's the show and tell that was never shown or told! Ha ha ha! AH HA HA HA HA!" Calvin: "Everybody wants the same old thing"

One of these days, they should send Calvin to the psychiatrist’s office instead of the principal’s office.

Show them something that’s never been seen by anyone else previously, which, after you’ve shown it to them, will never be seen by anyone else ever again. The answer to that riddle is in an old Superman comic book, I believe. Of course, it’s almost as uninteresting as the object that is never shown or discussed by Calvin.

I went to school with a couple of odd (creative?) kids, but Calvin takes the cake.

His “show and tell” is akin to a ghost story around the campfire. The telling is the performance. Though perhaps he should save it for Juilliard or RADA.

My six year old grandson reminds me of Calvin (and vice versa), very creative and never ceases to amaze me with his thoughtful humor. And man, can that kid negotiate!

You’re the closest to the actual answer, and your answer is correct and in the same vein. Superman had to respond to some puzzles or demands by Mister Mxyzptlk, if I recall correctly. One was to show him something no one had ever seen before, and after that, would never seen again. Superman returned with an intact pea pod, opened it to show him the previously unviewed peas, then ate them.

Obviously, Calvin thrives on head trips; for that all-important two-second high in life (regardless of any consequences!).
