Susie could do what Calvin’s parents couldn’t. Maybe they should talk to Susie’s folks about “renting” her for such occasions.

It must have been a real pain for Calvin to talk while making that face.

I love the subtleties here. Calvin has been doing this because he thinks it’s an improvement… not aesthetically, but in utter outrageousness. Why should he care what Suzie thinks except that she wasn’t put off by it. So she agrees that it’s an improvement, not in outrageousness, but aesthetically. Clearly, an ostensible agreement with him is not what he was looking for.

It never ceases to amaze me how this same pattern can be observed in adults, just in more sophisticated ways.

Throughout this arc I’ve been wondering how he can talk while his face is “stuck” that way.

Ouch! Now their faces are stuck in that expression. :)
