Such a marvelous strip today. Hobbes … such a rascal.

That settles it scientifically – time is relative. Between Hobbesian havoc and a cathartic Calvinist… Einstein was on to something!

Hobbes nailed it in the last panel. Unhappy memories linger on and on, while good ones fly by.

Watterson was sure having fun with this one………

There is a wonderful Sunday strip showing Calvin and Hobbes having different types of fun together on a summer day. At the end of the strip, Calvin and Hobbes are in bed and Calvin says, “Summer days are supposed to be long but they seem short to me.” Hobbes replies, “I’ll say, we didn’t do half the things on our itinery.”

BTW, will Calvin’s parents notice his injuries? And even care where they came from??

Hobbes must have been alone to turn off the lights and add terror to his approaching visage.

Maybe a decoy would be in order.

Ha! I remember chasing my kids all over the house and they screamed and hid! Memories!

It just goes to show you how much fun it is it have tiger for a pet.

Sometimes time slows down, other times we are left wondering “what just happened?” When my front bicycle tire rolled off the rim in a 35 mph downhill curve, I had an instant of “uh oh!” followed by a snapshot view of the gorgeous countryside; I never felt so alive! Then came the fall and the sliding along the road….

Remember when Calvin and Hobbes were best friends? At this point in the strip, all the humor seems to be about the two of them fighting. It’s like the Lockhorns but with more fur.

That’s one way to take your shoes off at the door.

The slowing of perception effect is called “tachypsychia” and is thought to be part of the fight or flight response.

As a hockey fan I know this to be true. The shortest two minutes in sports are when my team is on the power play and the longest two minutes are when my team is on the penalty kill.

Yeah. A good ambush feels like it lasts for minutes to the receivers but only a few seconds for the senders. Sometimes, it truely is better to give than to receive.

The last panel sums up life perfectly.

Every day a peak experience.

They love each other so much- -Calvin would be upset without Hobbes to fight with.

Gotta love Hobbes… and Calvin’s imagination.

I like Hobbes coming out of the darkness!

I miss the old 3D red/blue anaglyph comics. This would be so great!

That’s one lively soft toy.

If this were an animated series, I could see the pounce panels being done as a slow-motion frame-by-frame sequence, complete with appropriate slowed-down sound effects. And I do have to agree with the last panel.

One of THE BEST Hobbes pouncing strips.

You see it coming in slow-mo but can’t move fast enough to get out of the way.

I like how the panels give you a feeling of slow motion.

Psychotic episodes can interfere with a person’s sense of time.

This happens a lot in superhero movies. It makes them even longer.
