Mrs. Wormwood knows about your surprises, Calvin. She doesn’t want one.

Should’ve asked for a drink of water.

A bigger surprise would be to answer the questions correctly. Of course what are the chances that would happen?

The best-laid plans ….. Calvin.

Tomorrow, Calvin does get to his locker. The story arc is then able to continue into a second week.

Like she was going to let you go to your locker if you would have told her what it was for!

A surprise from Calvin is never appealing.

We did not have lockers until jr high school. Books/pencils/crayons were stored in our desk (top lifted up). We had a coat closet in the back of the room for jackets/lunch boxes.

May I, not Can I.

Calvin may be stalling….probably didn’t study for the test…..

Oh… Calvin forgot his crib sheets. LOL…

Even though I have read C&H from the beginning when it originally came out in the local newspapers, I just now realized Calvin’s grade school has lockers. Every grade school in the US I have been in only has cubbies and hooks. Lockers were for the Big Kids’ Schools.

Drat! No severed head oracle to ace the test!

Why bother putting it in the locker? He should have just brought it in and hidden it in his desk.

Calvin has surprises for everyone.

If Calvin sat and did his test quietly, that would be the kind of surprise that could send Mrs Wormwood over the edge.

Calvin doesn’t understand that four letter word “WORK”.

I think I remember what is coming now.

In my 48 years of teaching music, I had plenty of Calvins. I would just chuckle on the inside and try to make their day just a little more challenging for them… and then smile at them. They knew! It was all an act (for most of them, anyway)
