This one reminds me of my teens and a friend of mine and I took an evening walk in the cool of the woods and got good and lost. We wandered for a couple of hours and finally saw a light in the distance. We headed for the light, only to find that it was the large window of a bedroom in the back of a house. Through the window we saw a crusty teacher of ours jumping on the bed with her husband just like C & H, only naked. We changed course and got out to the road and my friend said, “Stop. Did we just see what I think we just saw?” “Yep”. Which goes to show that even crusty teachers have a life that we students would never have guessed.
I think we broke every piece of furniture in the house. Sock football in the living room. Matchbox car racing on the piano keyboard. There was a paper plate on the wall that said, ”Jxxx owes me a fancy plate.”
Gotta love this one. The feeling of absolute freedom and enjoyment shown here is a great way to start a day. Brings a bit of regret for times past and envy for the very young.
When I was a little kid, my parents had a very bouncy bed and I liked nothing better than to jump on it, although I really was not allowed. Manny, many years later, my mother invited my granddaughter to jump on her bed! Unfortunately for the little girl, that bed wasn’t anywhere as near bouncy as the one I was forbidden to jump on.
This strikes a chord with me. I go walking with my cat in the twilight, when the neighborhood is quiet. She rubs against me, I bend down to stroke her back. I step away and turn. She steps away and turns. She comes back and rubs my other leg. I crouch down and scratch her head. These little dance steps continue until she gets bored, which is usually five minutes. Last night, she did not get bored for twenty minutes. I had to politely stop because it was getting dark and cold. We went inside for dinner.
We were jumping on the bed in our bedroom which was above the dining room and the one leg of the bed broke through the floor and then went through the dining room ceiling. I thought we were really in for it but to my surprise my father didn’t get bent too much out of sorts. Seemed like they had a joint in the flooring that out in the middle of space where there was no support under the joint.
I once broke the frame on my parents bed jumping on it…I think my Dad just propped it up…So, after he died, we got the bed and ended up having to fix it. Karma.

Calvin’s parents would not bother to think of bad springs. They have other issues emanating from calvin to look forward to.

I used to do this too, but on my bed. Yes, I had a lumpy mattress. Now I sleep on a memory foam bed.

Probably didn’t help that, like they’ve done before, they likely went old school and played whatever vinyl they found at 78 rpm

Reminds me of home videos where small wildlife discover trampolines for the first time. Foxes seem to get a kick out of it.

Bad Springs? I’ve been there… it’s not far from Chagrin Falls — home of Bill Watterson. Just don’t drink the water….

As far as a big bed for dancing, The Count bets his parents do the mattress mambo and horizontal bop. >;9

Did that on my parents’ bed when I was a kid. They had night lights suspended over the bed and they took a chunk out of my nose.
