I hate it when that happens… again and again…

Is it even a good idea?

My hangar is full of those.

I’ve had ideas that should’ve exploded in the hangar. . . .

That usually happens when you sober up. How did it happen to Calvin?

If the idea was “Do a backflip off the roof”, it is good that that idea exploded in the hanger.

Probably something that would make everyone unhappy!!

That idea had potential now it is just kinetic.

The difference, Hobbes, is that nearly ALL of Calvin’s do that …

Looks like Calvin may finally be growing up.

happens with every idea I had while smokin’ weed. In the cold light of day it’s always “What was I thinking?”

Blame it on the Luftwaffe.

I can only imagine watterson heard someone say that their idea never took off and decided to make more plane jokes to add to that.

Mine run out of gas after a few minutes.

Odd, usually Hobbes points out the flaws to Calvins ideas.

This is one of my favorite analogies.

Back in my early days in the Air Force, I was friends with a Marine Corps officer. Both our wives were pregnant at the same time.

I referred to my wife as “having one in the hangar.” He referred to his as “having a live round in the chamber.”

I guess these are the military equivalent of the civilian expression, “a bun in the oven.”

Are you sure it exploded? It could have just taken off like a rocket! lol

I had one of those last fall. I was clearing the leaves off the rose bushes with the leaf blower. When I was done I thought to myself "You know, this would be a really quick way to get the dog hair out from under the couch, fridge, etc. A few minutes later there is now dog hair on EVERY surface of my house and several pictures that were on the wall weren’t.

Just taxiing around in my brain.

I have great ideas all the time, in my sleep. Then I wake up and, poof, gone…

Me too Calvin, me too…

By the way, the only people who can hear or see Hobbes in any way are the ones who caught him with a tuna sandwich trap. ;)

My mind, like my garage, is full of things thought of and not done and things done that shouldn’t have been. Maybe one day . . .

Unfortunately, we all have had some crazy idea or other every once in a while; and some of us never learn to avoid them.

Exploded in the hangar? Oh, that would indicate the need for a major change.

Imagine Calvin’s mind like a base camp, with lots of little Calvins running around…it’s amazing anything gets built in there!

At my age I still get plenty of great ideas, I just can’t remember what they were 10 seconds later.

Now this is a classic! I’ll never forget this one.

I doubt Hobbes has had ideas that exploded in the hanger, so to speak.

I had no idea.

Sparks of genius can often lead to fire and explosions.

Building model airplanes?

Exploded? Sounds brilliant..

I suspect that a lot of Calvin’s “great” ideas explode in the hangar.

I guess that’s the difference between an idea and a full-blown scheme.

In the early ‘70s my wife and I joked about a stuffed baked potato fast food place. We were shocked when someone implemented the concept. We think it didn’t catch on because they didn’t put enough of the stuffing components in the potatoes.

It’s worse to not even try, if it’s a reasonable idea which we all know this wasn’t.

Just add more rockets, Calvin. That’ll get it up high in the air.

So did Boeing
