Cathy: 10:00 am: I have to call and tell them I'm too busy getting ready for Christmas to go to their dinner party tonight. 12:00 pm: Now I really have to call! Why didn't I call at 10:00? If I'd called at 10:00, it would have been so easy..2:30pm: They've set the table by now! They set a place for me! Why didn't I call at 12:00?? What can I possibly say to them now? 4:45pm: I'll lie and say I'm sick! No! I'll lie and say my dog's sick! No! I'll lie and say I have a flat tire! No... 8:30pm: The party started an hour ago! They're waiting to start dinner for me! I have to call! Just call and tell them the truth! Hello. I'm not at your party because I wasted the whole day thinking up excuses for how to get out of going to it.
