My mother looked at me, saw the way the gene pool was going down, and said, “Son, have you ever considered becoming a priest?”

If the two haven’t had kids yet, there’s probably a very good reason for that. At the very least it’s sparing us the horrors of seeing two self-absorbed ninnies trying to raise a child.

Wouldn’t Cathy have fun buying baby things?! And the saleslady would be in happy hysteria… ;D

It would be a disaster, but like any train wreck, we’d all be watching intently.
LOL, Lewreader – you crack me up! :-)

Well, Irving doesn’t want any, so they’ll probably get divorced the moment Cathy says she wants one.

Cathy is too old to have a baby.
Now, if they adopt, like Guisewite did in real life, I’d like that.
Maybe all of Cathy’s babies have disappeared like Charlene’s did.

Please don’t bring ANY children into this mess.
CATHY NEEDS A DIVORCE AND A NEW ROUND OF MEN! FRANTIC, MIDDLE AGE DATING WILL BE BETTER THAN CHILDREN WITH THAT LOSER! PLEASE LISTEN TO THE READERS FOR A CHANGE!
Irving and his parents need to go. We are ALL sick of them.
NO CHILDREN!

DIVORCE IS NOT A SOLUTION TO ANY PROBLEM!
It IS a problem!
(BTDT - and had more issues after than before!)

I wondered how long Cathy’s mom would hold out before the grandchild issue would show up. I must say she did very well.
I rally like the idea of those two adopting; would avoid their own gene pools, give a home to a baby that’s in need, and would shush Cathy’s mom up.
But perhaps I’m a wee bit biased…because I myself am adopted.

RadioTom - Wanna bet? I am MUCH happier without my ex than I ever was with him. Divorce is a very real solution to some problems!

Oh Boy Mrs. Luke is negative here too. It must be something in your water dear. Maybe you need to do yoga or something to calm down a bit.
Cathy is 30 something. Being a comic character she doesn’t age, so babies may be in her future. If she and Irving decide to that is….Why not?

Last I checked, Grandmas didn’t have a lot of luck with this tactic. I don’t remember any of Cathy’s boyfriends being of much higher caliber than Irving, so not much point diving back into the dating game. It would be interesting to see Cathy raising a kid – even with dorky Irving. She’s been a good “mommy” to the dogs and both of them seem to adore her.

Children are no way to stay together, but if you have them and care for them well, it can make a horrid marriage worthwhile -after you dispose of the father ;-)

I have three kids and my mother in law is STILL like this. She keeps wanting more
