Cathy: This old sweater goes out! Mom: Wait! I can wash it...Shape it...Mend it...Wrap it in tissue...seal it in a plastic sweater bag...See? It will stay nice and fresh for years to come! Cathy: Grandma lined the cellar with canned peaches...Mom lines the closet with clothing preserves. Mom: Look! I made cute matching labels!
I try to make myself get rid of at least one thing in my closet if I bring home something new. If the old thing is still wearable (but I don’t ever wear it), I put it in the Goodwill box. When I take a full box to Goodwill, I like to look around. Last week I bought a gorgeous jacket for $4.00! Thrift store shopping is almost chic nowadays!Bon voyage to lightenup.Good luck, shygirl. To linds.pook from yesterday: I have boxes of teaching material. I retired two years ago when I became eligible, but I just barely qualify for AARP, so I’m not going to say never again when it comes to teaching. I threw out tons of stuff, but kept enough so that I won’t have to reinvent the wheel if I take another teaching job.Hello to all the Cathy Clan!
