I wonder what Cathy missed out on when she was young and that she will tend to hoard when she gets older?

Just stopping in to say good morning everyone. Thank you so much frightenup, Gsmom and linds.pook for all of your support. Have a wonderful day. Bon voyage frightenup!

Let’s see, throw it away because you can’t wear it any more or seal it in plastic so you can’t wear it any more. Yeah, tough choice. Now she can’t go to the mall to talk to the crazy Sales Lady about a new sweater. And I thought my life was hard.
Morning Susan and shyygirl. Safe trip frightenup :-D
Off to my crypt. Thud . . . thud . . . thud

Wow… eyeroll (extending until Tuesday when I come back).I don’t think Cathy missed out on anything when she was younger; she just has an over-enabling mother. There are many reasons for nuttiness.Good morning millie, Susan, Shyygirl and FrankenAaronStein! You all are cracking me up with the Halloween references! :-)Thank you for the nice wishes, and I will think of you all at breakfast time (when I typically post) each day! “See” you on Tuesday (maybe Monday if I’m up to it)! Au revoir!

I’d say after looking at today’s strip, that all Cathy’s weirdness and odd little habits that drive us crazy, is her mother’s fault.

I try to make myself get rid of at least one thing in my closet if I bring home something new. If the old thing is still wearable (but I don’t ever wear it), I put it in the Goodwill box. When I take a full box to Goodwill, I like to look around. Last week I bought a gorgeous jacket for $4.00! Thrift store shopping is almost chic nowadays!Bon voyage to lightenup.Good luck, shygirl. To linds.pook from yesterday: I have boxes of teaching material. I retired two years ago when I became eligible, but I just barely qualify for AARP, so I’m not going to say never again when it comes to teaching. I threw out tons of stuff, but kept enough so that I won’t have to reinvent the wheel if I take another teaching job.Hello to all the Cathy Clan!

Poor Cathy. With a nut job like this for a mom, she never had a chance at a normal life from day one!!! I guess if I were Cathy, I’d just humor my mother until she left then go ahead and do whatever it is I was originally going to do to begin with. Dishonest, I know. But it would be the only way to avoid hurting her feelings and still get rid of things I no longer wanted and will never wear again. Cathy has so many things she already doesn’t wear — and so many things she wears all the time, like this pink track suit — that it’s doubtful her mother would ever know the difference!
Dr. Billy: My husband is looking into a few different things we can try, such as Netflix, HuluPlus, etc. but we’ve got so many network shows we like to watch during the fall/winter/spring season that it’s not something we could fully use right now. But it’s those little “gap” shows in-between I’m really going to miss . . . “Snapped” on Sunday evenings (although I can “buy” the current episodes on Amazon.com for $1.99 each but I’m not really sure that’s something I want to do no matter how much I like the show! Free is definitely better!!!) . . . “Dirty Jobs” and “Auction Kings” on Discovery . . . “I Shouldn’t Be Alive” on Animal Planet (when they start showing new ones) . . . “House Hunters” at night when I go to bed, etc. (At least I got to see last night’s “South Park” online today though!) I know that, just like so many other people, we have a bad habit of watching too much t.v. but there’s nothing else to do and no place to go so why not watch t.v.? And who knows? Maybe in the end, we might end up being happier people without it, but right now, it’s been a really tough adjustment for me over the last couple of days when it’s one of those things that I’ve never been without a single day in my life for at least 30 years now — maybe more (as I don’t exactly remember how old I was when cable t.v. finally became available in my small town and my dad had it installed in our house). Well, on the upside, I guess I can now start reading more . . . not to mention I’ll be able to spend more time here at “Cathy’s Corner” with all my favorite “peeps”!!!!!
lightenup: I know that by now you’re most likely already gone but I’ll just go ahead and say it anyhow . . . au revoir and safe travels while on your wonderful trip to Spain, dear friend!!!!! “See” you next week when you get back!!!!!

At least you can eat canned peaches (old-fashioned way or supermarket way) and YUM! to that. Mom, leave Cathy alone. She can be a nut job on her own just fine. It’s a terrible thing you did giving her your silly genes.
hi mom! :-) Hulu Plus, I forgot that one. We also have Amazon Prime, and can get shows that way too, but mostly we love the 2-day shipping. Netflix is our go-to way to get our college buds to come to dinner or a way to chill out after sports nights. I don’t do home-alone well, with TV or not.Hi evening folks. kittycatpawsare are you there? I don’t think we’ve seen you in a while.AnonaMoaner about 12 years ago
I think a lot of people must be taking to their hibernation nests for the winter, now that the year has turned. I feel a bit like doing that myself – I’m not a great fan of frost and ice! Now, if only I too had a lovely warm tracksuit like Cathy . . .

Hi to all my cathy friends A.M. & P.M. I have not been feeling to well the last few days. I’ll post more later. Hi Billy Eye-gor how’s the book going? Bye for now. : )

Hi other Cathyites!! This is beyond even what I could do — whoever (I think it was GretchensMom) said humor Mom & then finish the job after she leaves is absolutely right!! I suppose to carry it one step further, she could put them in frames and hang them on the wall too — Yikes!!

My OH can be funny about clothes too. His own things wear out and get thrown away, but mine seem to last for ever – and he doesn’t want me to throw away anything with memories attached.
I still have (somewhere) a brown Bri-nylon reefer jacket that I used to wear when we first got together. I wouldn’t even think of putting it on now, even if I could get into it, and I have tried to get rid of it. But no – it’s still hanging around somewhere, waiting for goodness what to happen so that I’ll wear it again.
Mind you, I’m not planning to put on my wedding dress again either . . . that’s in a box to keep it in good condition. But don’t ask me what for!

Well, i see the “nutjobbiness” still runs in the family.
