That really happens. I wore a size 6 shoe for decades. Then 6.5 for about ten years. Then 7. Last month I bought two pairs of shoes and had to go to 7.5. They tell me it’s a combination of my high arches flattening with age, loosening of ligaments and such with age, and the fact that I walk many miles a day, all contributing to my delicate little feet becoming clodhoppers.
The only time my feet grew were right after my two pregnancies. I did gain a lot of weight (obviously), but it was a difficult transition because I went from buying “regular” size shoes to having to order online. Having said that, I cringe when I see people’s feet hang over the sides of their shoes because they don’t wear the correct sized shoes. It’s usually their toes that are almost touching the ground because their shoes are too small, unlike Cathy’s heels that are hanging off the back.
Hello Cathy friends! Happy Monday! Welcome back, hendelca! Have a great day, all!
At least she didn’t say her jeans and skirt shrunk – that is the one I hear all the time! :-) I don’t know if feet or growing or that manufacturers have changed shoe sizes more like the European standard.
Yep, Cathy—growing can be a part of life. Worse things exist, but it’d sure be nice to be able to choose what grows, and when, and how much, wouldn’t it?

Sometimes personal growth isn’t such a welcome experience

karlykru — I’m with you…my old shoes still fit, but new shoes have to be a size larger.
