Computer: Memo to employee lyle zincott: Please disregard this morning's termination notice, which was sent to you in error.
Unfortunately, Lyle had already sent nasty emails to his boss, three vice presidents and the CEO.
Yeah, know the feeling, we had an e-mail carrier with a “forward to all” button, somehow I sent it to everyone with an email address at the college. Thank goodness it was a positive email about a guy throwing starfish back into the ocean, the story basically is: two men walking the shoreline and one is picking up and throwing the starfish back into the ocean, the other guy asks “why it won’t make a difference” and he responds, it makes a difference to that one.” Got a lot of positive responses, even one from the college president who used it in one of his speaches. When I checked 85% of the people opened it within minutes. I did go into the boss as soon as I did it, and he went and opened it up and came in a few minutes later telling me to be more careful. I’m thanksful it was a good e-mail! Never made that mistake again.
