I like Ellie’s answer and wish I thought of it when mine were small. Makes sense, and makes the transition easier. And to all you Ellie bashers out there, notice she is enjoying this walk with her children!
Where’s the real one, which one brings gifts to me?
Where’s the real one, I’m as puzzled as can be!
How can he make all his toys when he’s working all these stores?
Santa Clause which one are you?
I’ve always liked it, too. Elly raised loving, well-adjusted, normal children. She has a sense of humor that balances her pique… That’s my opinion. :-)
I was always told that it was because Santa was so busy that he had to have helpers. I always knew which were the helpers, and which was the real Santa.
Here’s my rendition of Elly and her “sense of humor”…..
Ah, yes. Mom’s are sacred. That’s why my 1st wife and my daughter both abandoned their children.

Frodo I’m sorry this happened with your wife and daughter, that’s rotten. But it’s just as bad when a man walks away and leaves his kids. When you become a parent you have a lifelong responsibility from that point.

The usual story is all the santas are Santa’s helpers who dress like him.

Its a good thing that all mothers are not like that or the world would be a rotten place.

A song I sang in elementary school for a concert:
Where’s the real one, which one brings gifts to me? Where’s the real one, I’m as puzzled as can be! How can he make all his toys when he’s working all these stores? Santa Clause which one are you?

Whine, whine, whine. Poor tortured woman.

Really, people, do you not have any self centered thoughts? EVER? Elly is only thinking those things…not acting on them!
She is a very human person and Mom. She loves her kids and husband.
You must go into fits reading Erma Bombeck!
Always loved ‘For Better or Worse’ and think you are being way negative toward the comic.
Well, hope you have a nice holiday anyway!

“AAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!! AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! POOR ME!!! MY WASTED, WASTED LIFE! POOR BITTER, SELFISH, RESENTFUL, UNFULFILLED ME! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHGH!”
There you have her so called “sense of humor”. That’s MOST of OUR opinions.

I noticed that lately too. Elly’s whining is starting to turn me off.
