Phoebe: i already have to take a SPELLING TEST. then I'm gonna be assigned a SPELLING PRACTICE PARTNER. i'll be forced to spend time with some kid i BARELY KNOW. Marigold: No comment.
Ah! The magic text is still working! “Being forced to spend time with someone you barely know.” Isn’t that how Marigold and Phoebe first got together? That’s how I found some of my best friends.
Thanks to spelling checkers, people don’t know which of several homophones is the correct word. Most people can’t even select the correct one for usage of the four to’s.
Well, friendship is a very powerful magic that has to be handled with judgement and skill. . When MAR took on granting a Best Friends wish she jumped right into the AP without prelims for this branch of magic. .Good thing PHE is a child. They’ve already done 100’s of things to each other that would have had a human adult storming off, and an Enchanted throwing curses.
Actually, there’s:1. To make leather, to let half-made leather sit and cure, to work metal, or to temper mortar.2. Alternate form of “tewing”, the work of preparation, fussing about. 3. Alternate form of “tow”.4. Fishing tackle, implements and materials, stuff generally.5. Drum braces or cords.
All of them are dialect, at best, and obsolete, at worst.
When I was in Middle School we weren’t allowed to have cell phones, PERIOD. It wasn’t until the end of my 7th grade year in Middle School that my reading teacher talked to the school board and allowed us to listen to music players and various other devices (including cell phones) while reading in class but if it wasn’t for listening purposes then she confiscated it. When I got into High School everything was different, we could use our cell phones at lunch, in the hallways while switching classes, on the busses, etc. We could even use our phones while working on assignments in most of my classes. The rule was IF IT WENT OFF IN CLASS, THE TEACHER WAS SUPPOSED TO TAKE IT AND TURN IT INTO THE OFFICE but, the High School teachers were more lenient about that rule (unlike the Middle School teachers) and normally would just have us students turn it off.

Put that thing away, Phoebe, before the teacher discovers you using it.

While its a good idea to get to know other people I don’t get the whole “new class each year”. No, not the advancing ( before someone gets smart :))

Dana must have written that so us old folks could understand it.. An actual child would have used only one third of those letters, and no punctuation.

Dangit; need an ‘edit’ button! ;-)
Marigold’s just not going to let that go is she? Gee, Marigold; what’s a little rock to the head amongst ‘friends?’ :-) :-) :-)
Wonder if M has multiple avatars.. The expression on this one looks awfully appropriate with that reply. :-)
Reply to someone I forgot: I don’t think Marigold uses a phone at all. I think all her texting is done in her own head.

Maybe the numeral ‘2’ is considered a forth. Enough people seem to use it to replace the others these days _
