I don’t know about y’all, but I think the rest of the world is still breathing a sigh of relief that Obama won, and made it to inauguration.

While it still has a chance of getting shot down or watered down into a passive-aggressive “I told you so” from the Republicans, health care reform has the best chance of passing in over a hundred years.

More states acknowledge the right to marry for all.

Headline News has been “Britney-Free” for months, now.

Maybe I don’t watch enough Fox “News,” but I haven’t heard a peep about any “war on Christmas” this year (I have myself, however, been critical of the legend of Santa Claus to promote class bigotry among children, but that’s my own battle I have to fight). It’s been a great year, really.

It hasn’t exactly been a great year but I didn’t lose any family members and I’m still alive. Not too bad.

Think of how much worse it could have been. And of course Alaska caught a real break.

365 days of her Maj is always something to be thankful for + my husband screamed like a little girl when he opened his autographed copy of “Suffragettes Gone Wild” on Christmas morning - so those are two good things.

I could have been worse. And it’s ending on a pretty good note for me. But still……………….GOOD RIDDANCE 2009 AND DON’T LET THE DOOR HIT YOU ON THE BUTT!

In the big picture, my personal life is OK, but 2 of my 4 kids are out of work in spite of being talented professionals (a land surveyor and a mechanical/electrical engineer) and the former’s wife is also. They put lots of work and $ in their house and now have to sell. The latter are OK on savings but have 2 boys in college.

I celebrate 2009 as the year I finished the first draft of my first novel. Hey, I’ll take what I can get! ;)

Next year’s going to be much brighter. Jupiter’s supposed to turn into a second sun.

@Coyoty: that assumes we’ve already been to check out the monolith under Tycho crater…
