I just hope it isn’t the Charlie Brown’s Christmas tree of dogs.

We got one dog when we were kids, and the folks said, “This is your responsibility.” Dividing the work of one dog among 6 kids worked reasonably well. When they asked about a second dog, we said, “This one’s on you!” They got it anyway.

My kids really want a job but I can’t afford and don’t have the patience for another kid.

“A lot of work”? I bet it’s that shelter volunteer. She was a lot of work.

My 9 year old grandson was visiting me with his Dad, and was telling me how he loved his 2 dogs. When the subject came up about “clean up” time his response was “oh, we have an agreement. I take care of the front end (feeding) and he (his Dad) takes care of the back end.” We all got a good laugh over that, but so true :-)

It was originally “We’ll take good care for it, feed it, walk it, etc”, Now it’s You can do it Dad. See how “WE”, becomes “YOU” . Happens in alot of things. People want things, but YOU do the work for them.

Ok…see…this is another reason for tropical fish. No walks, no barking, no peeing on the carpet, no shedding to clean up after, no raiding the trash can..and on and on!
