Actually, what’s a string quartet without FOUR strads? Why should only one person be lucky? In fact, how about a string quartet with four strads, each person wearing an original Da Vinci painting?
idarke: String quartets usually have at least a cello and a viola along with the violin. I doubt that Stradivarius ever made a cello, and probably not a viola either.
At our county fair last year we had one composed of Banjo, guitar, fiddle, Dobro, and electric guitar. (They can’t count well in Greek in my county.) (Or English, either, for that matter.)
Joe-Allen “Joe” Doty said, “Chris Shendo may have “electrified” the Stradivarius with a wireless transmitter device and its signal picked up by remote amplifier or so that it could set off an explosive device not inside the violin.”
Why did the blob pay millions for a Stradivarius for this. Couldn’t a “regular” violin serve the purpose?
Just any old violin, you couldn’t be sure he’d be invited. With a Strad, you have a much better chance.
Joe’s explanation sounds reasonable, although we don’t know what the purpose of the explosion would be.
Maybe they will be playing the 1812 Overture! ;-)

But… how did the embassy find out that the blob had a Strad so quickly? He just bought it a couple days ago. Never mind, this will only start a series of questions.

It could be flat, too, if the Strad is tuned badly.

Doesn’t the maestro ever go home. He’s always at symphony hall or is this story all happening on the same day?

Naw it has to be at least 2 days. Rember the kid’s band burned a CD and Macy’s been assigned to attend the Embasys function.
Why is it necessary to keep repeating those stupid musical names for these sorely lacking characters and in BOLD text as well!?!

I think it would still be a string quartet.
