Clayton: This imaginary dog walking is harder than it sounds. Katy: Puppies sure are a lot of work. Clayton: Should we tell mom and dad that we've reconsidered? Katy: Yes. Clayton; Let's just say the dog broke off the leash and ran away. Katy: That sounds believable. Clayton: Or how 'bout we met a leprechaun who promised him a good home? Katy: Ooo! That sounds believable and they won't have to worry about the dog!

A lot of schools are making them do that these days… my second daughter just spent a week lugging around a doll - she was annoyed when I told her I wouldn’t drive her to school, because the object of the exercise was to make her understand the full weight of having to do things like cart her books and the baby on the bus. It worked.
