Fritz reminds me of this middle-aged man I saw in the doctor’s office one day: he was wearing dress shirt, dress belt and dress shoes with a pair of,“mom jeans” on. Obviously it was his first day-off in years!(though, he probably earns enough money to buy-&-sell me!)

That’s sitcom typical. The person who is so by the book that they have to plan time to be spontaneous. r in Fritz’s case, they have to have a manual telling them what spontaneity is and how and when to be spontaneous.
