Checking out the chicken’s eyes, I’d say he was scared at some point by Bill the Cat!

Baldo needs to dress the part of authentic mexican peasant to tick off his father!
My family does not get embroiled in Hispanic Heritage month by the way.

I’m sorry, but in my opinion - unless Baldo salvages this with an impassioned monologue to his family about what his heritage and identity means to him living where and when he does, this may go down in history as the lamest couple of weeks ever on this strip.
This strip is one of my favorites. I kept reading it when I cut back from a few dozen a day to just 15. Hector and Carlos usually do very well - informing and commenting while remaining entertaining. This hasn’t been up to their usual standard.

Try living in Fruita Colorado. They have a “Mike the headless chicken” festival every spring. Check it out on Google. There really was a Mike the headless chicken.

that chickens thing sounds fun! although they must be breaking the law if they’re in L.A. although I can see why they made that law considering that in texas You can sometimes see crowds of Chickens in the street looking for trouble.
