How long can that coat keep on burning? How long can Measles keep on functioning? How long, I ask? Do not the night cops of the field dissuade him? Does he not know that surrender is the only way to save his life? To what unbridled ends will his dark ways lead him? Measles must be stopped!

Because they have him completely surrounded. Wouldn’t the better move, regarding the safety of the officers, be to hunker down and just wait him out. He is by a lonely tree in the middle of of a field. So, he cannot make an escape attempt without being seen.

Let’s see… Measles has been (1) shot, (2) whacked with an axe, (3) set on fire, and now (4) he tries to square off against Tracy and Sam while overdoing a lot of serious chemicals. So — when does he get hit by a lightning bolt?(Of course. Sunday.)

PS: In the first panel, have the number of freckles on his forehead multiplied, or are the extras in reality, beads of sweat?

If Measles was half-way sober, one might think he was ready to commit “suicide by cop.” Sadly, that happens more than you may think. In this case though, I think he’s just wacky.

Otto, you gotta have one cool avitar! It’s going to be a tough climb beating MM’s (here anyway), but I look forward to seeing it – and the comment, naturally!

As usual Joe’s drawing and Shelley’s inking is spot on … but the person who colored todays strip really screwed it up. I’m guessing that no more than two or three minutes were spent on coloring. Very unprofessional.

Awesome story and artwork! The coloring this week, however, has been pretty bad (even for gocomics).

I’m confused Otto. Yesterday, in your own words-" I find it sad that you don’t read the strip to enjoy it, but only to “tattle” on what you find wrong. If I don’t find much to like about a strip, then I don’t continue to read it. I have much better things to do with my time then play “Find 10 things wrong with today’s Dick Tracy strip.”

Today – “the greatest fun to be had every day was reading other commentators in the forum giving their opinion of how bad it was.”

You admit that you didn’t like Locher’s Tracy, but you DID continue to read it and to comment on it, despite what you said yesterday.

The key words in your post today – “giving THEIR OPINION” should be allowed – no matter who writes or draws the strip, or whether you or I or anyone else agrees or disagrees with said opinion.

Y’all go easy on Otto. He actually speaks for me. I still can’t figure out why he was asked about his cajones, though. Is SDM fantacizing again?

If I may interject my opinions:1) SDM has the perfect right to nitpick Curtis and Staton’s work.2) The rest of us have the perfect right to note that SDM is nitpicking work that overall is leaps and bounds better than anything Locher ever produced.3) What’s given SDM such a rep around here isn’t his nitpicking, but his trolling, as when he impersonated Locher and then Hansel, and went on his namecalling and animated gif sprees. I’m pretty certain these practices have slacked off only because the powers that be have warned him to knock it off and are deleting his offensive posts.4) SDM’s persecution complex (“Why is everyone picking on me” and “Everyone else does what I’m doing so why do they single me out”) is hollow and frankly ridiculous considering his history of behaving like a troll. It’s obvious (to me at least) that he created the SDM account to complain, annoy, draw attention to himself, and set people at odds with one another. That is why so many here can’t stand him, and that is why his actions do not deserve to be defended.

i am fairly certain we can ALL agree on a few key points here. (and a few of them i am excusing myself from since as i have stated numerous times that i have never read a complete locher story in the tracy strip)

    1) locher deserves credit for keeping tracy alive for 33 years (tho most of it seems to have been on a life support system instead of a natural life)2) locher did very good work IN THE BEGINNING of his run3) his work slacked off TERRIBLY at the end of his run4) he stayed on the strip for too long5) staton and curtis have breathed new life into the strip and brought it back to what it once was6) mph and sdm are almost certainly the same person (smile)7)nobody likes sdm (as evidenced by his little challenge/contest to me in which he was beat rather handily)8) we are ALL allowed to have criticisms and “nitpick moments” but SOME people overdo it because they are bitter angry lonely people9) i am in the 1% who thinks that measles is just a simply misunderstood guy who, if given the right attention and guidance, wouldnt be such a bad person (lol)10)sdm is a troll11)sdm STOPPED his gif postings NOT out of respect for vistabill but because so many of the other posters here flagged them and the powers that be reprimanded him for it12) to help otto’s cough, all he has to do is borrow some of measles’ patches :)

Back to the Future. I found it interesting a few months ago a pic was going around Facebook showing a pic from Back to the Future II and it was the date Marty had on the time machine as he went into the future, Jun 27, 2012. Turns out it was a hoax. The real date is October 21, 2015. Think we will have the flying cars running on Mr. Fusion, self tying sneakers, hover-boards, and 3D movie marquee’s?

I remember seeing BTTF for the first time. It was a double feature with The Goonies, which they showed first. A great night of entertainment. BTTF-1 was one of those movies that approached perfection.

I don’t agree, as far as I’m concerned, Locher’s work on DT was subpar from the beginning(his flat-faced version of Tracy, his women with hips wider than a cows, his awful wiggly inking, he even managed to make the DT “babe” LIZZ look bad!),and I quit reading it until he was finally replaced

As long as we’re talking about it, Fletcher’s style was always a little “loose” for my taste. Sometimes it looked like someone doing a parody of DT instead of the real thing. (Just my opinion)

Locher’s work is to Dick Tracy what these constant feuding comments between a few individuals is to the rest of the commentary here….
