Oh, come on. That’s easy. It’s because light never speeds up or slows down.

Whoa - he must be really low on brain cells, I know that one and your average table is better at math and science than I am!

But does your head light travel faster than your tail light?

Or in this case, “tale light” and NOt head lice

Actually, edcole, light DOES slow down.

When you run light through a prism, it slows down just enough that when the light hits the other face of the prism, the colors that make up white light separate.

    Thank you, Magic School Bus!

    Consider:

    – ∂2Bz = ∂2Ey . ∂x2 ∂x∂t and –∂2Bz =∂2Ey , ∂t2 ∂x∂t or

    ∂2Bz –∂2Bz= 0. ∂t2 ∂x2

    ‘nuff said!

    186,000 mps.

It’s not just a good idea. It’s the LAW.

The speed of light in a vacuum is considered a constant (and the fastest possible speed) because assuming it isn’t introduces a number of contradictions and inconsistencies into physics. I have a marvelous and elegant proof of this, but this typing box isn’t big enough to contain it.
