The pile of leaves comes out great in color…OK, OK, wait, my brain’s starting to work…come on quiet down so I can hear it….Hey, that’s Wiley in the chair…I’m going to honor his request…man it took me two posts to catch on..
@roctor -“Its over.” Yes, in MANY ways. The welfare states have managed to turn the USA into a welfare country. It won’t last four more years, what with obama’s new “flexibility.”
I guess it’s time to quit working for a living, adjust my standard of living and join the rest of the ‘gimmee more free stuff" people. It won’t take long to run out of other people’s money once all the working class does the same.
It’s time to exercise 2nd amendment rights en masse! Just the way our founding fathers envisioned, to overtake tyranny.
Trouble with telling everybody to “get a life” is that there’s a fairly significant chunk of the population for whom “life” equals endless chattering about politics. Worse, these people seem to be disproportionately represented in the snooze media. Expect the next several weeks to be filled with “analysis” about (1) why the elections came out the way they did, and (2) how the various groups will/must respond in order to win next time. Also expect little of this to have much connection to reality.
On behalf of my fellow Floridians, and those folks in Ohio, I say : Peace, Peace at last ! No more robo-calls, no more mailings, no more nasty, negative commercials, and no more phony photo op visits !!! ( At least for now…)
Does the past year remind anyone else of the dream episode of Dallas? You could wake up this morning and everything is just about the same as months ago, except for the redistribution of wealth from affluent individuals to Super Pacs to media outlets in the swing states.
It’s clear there are a number of you who need to take a few deep breaths and get some perspective on this. We’re all in this life together – like it or not. We’ll get further solving our collective problems with rational compromise and thoughtful acceptance. Peace – not pieces…..
OK, I’ll take this bait.-You said, “If you are Jehovah’s Witness(es) you say, “Thank you,” and go on your way and just be happy that your faith is strong and hope the other person’s is too.”-This time of year we always just say “Thank you.” Emotions run hot and there is no need to get into any negative disagreements.-However, come February, when the credit card bills come in, people are much more willing to talk about it. ;-)
I feel like we need a new national holiday that follows election days that includes observing 24 hours of political silence. Maybe it would even include sharing a cup of coffee or a glass of beer with other people and focusing on what we have in common . . . wishful thinking, I know, but a person can dream.
At least Obama tried to create jobs! Ask the Sosandra workers in Illinois about Bain closing their factory this fall and sending the jobs to China. Then sending in the corporate goons to tell them to shut up or they’d close the plant THAT DAY and refuse to honor their pensions! A Romney/Republican wet dream !
O.K. I agree it does seem quiet, but just wait soon the quiet will be filled with Christmas carols ringing in the heads of people with Halloween hangovers and administration nightmares!

I love how Repubs never include the corporate part of welfare when bitching about the “welfare” state!
