Oh…. and MadVirgo from yesterday…thank you. There was so much rambling off into other interpretations after my post I was starting to think no one got it OR had ever heard of the Technotronics song…(Not that I like it.)
One of the most perfectly pretty cars ever made. Dare I suggest that the first image you see at this link is awfully familiar? And it’s red as well.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferrari_Dino
@j. ShortFunny thing, I cant’ get the image insert to work for me. It just shows up as text when I submit. I guess it’s like the old saying, “Them that can, do. Them that can’t, teach.”
Start Me UP was written in 1975 as a reggae song, but the band didn’t like it much (they told their recording engineer to erase the tape). Then in 1982, they needed to release an album, but didn’t have time to go into the studio for a writing and recording session. They resurrected a bunch of old tracks from the vaults, reworked some of them (including Start Me Up) and released it as the album Tattoo You.Start Me Up became the last Stones single to hit the top ten in Britain. Not bad for a song they wanted to erase.

I have been thinking a lot as I will be back with my lover in about a month; funny that he still thinks someone else might start me up – I know NOT! and . . . I just can’t say what all I want to do.

What is he holding, and why would he say that?

I don’t get it.

Little known fact. 20-odd years later, the same guy had a very similar encounter with Eddie Van Halen and David Lee Roth.

Folks, this coincides with a documentary on the 50th anniversary of the Rolling Stones being together.

This cartoon gave me no satisfaction. (Never liked Jagger, but his recent SNL appearance showed him to be an excellent comic actor.)

But if it’s a Ferrari Dino, where are Desi and Billy?
konradh about 12 years ago
Sort of a double pun since the song has car lyrics
konradh about 12 years ago
Or does that make it a half pun? Clever either way
konradh about 12 years ago
And, Susan, you are super smart but you really let me down on the license plate question… :-)

Oh, that’s Mick Jagger? I had no idea that was him. Now it makes sense.

Did everyone miss that fact that she’s driving an electric car and he is asking her if she wants her batteries “topped off”
DanReynolds about 12 years ago
@devin.craneOkay then. I hope you feel better now.

Big problem – the guy in the window really doesn’t look like Mick, and the car is for sure a Ferrari Dino.
