David and Stephanie are just more or less ordinary folks engaged in public cosplay. When the real baddies seek to take them down, will Tracy and the MCU be able to save their hides, or are they Redshirts?

Dave’s in more danger than just Bates.The local villains aren’t afraid to shoot at Tracy. What makes anyone think this guy’s costume will stop bullets…Beside the Cinnamon Knight that is.

Looks like they’ve got more costumes in their closet.

I’m just glad they aren’t complete idiots; just enough to need Dick Tracy to save them.

Your anger still seems misplaced and does not support your statements that you are not SDM.

Which is worse, pretending to be someone who does not exist or someone implying that he is you (and was actually using your avatar at the time).

Fraud (implying something is true when you know it is not) and Identity Theft (using another person’s identity and allowing others to believe that is who you are) only get a scolding from you and then a pass…???

Unless you can get SDM to reveal his identity, there is no way to PROVE he is not you

Hello, Matthew. I haven’t seen a post of Judy H. referring to your person or defaming you since I started reading DT. If poster Judy H. did that, that seems to had happened long ago. Like, if poster Judy H. did what you state they did, they’ve already been in probation and rehabilitated. That’s the way I and perhaps others could see it. It’s maybe because of that that the board won’t deactivate poster Judy H.‘s account. I can hardly see now cause for deactivating poster Judy H.’s account. Furthermore, that poster’s post today was very conciliatory. Just saying.

Matthew, I need to correct myself. Judy H. has referred to you in some recent posts, but I still don’t perceive them as defamatory, neither they convey a claim of being a relative of yours.

By attempting their cosplay in an actual business, couldn’t that be considered a crime such as disturbing the peace?

matt, they PROBABLY enforce the non-anonymous rule at the john byrne boards because byrne is such a self centered idiot that he simply annoys people by breathing the same air that they do, lol. now i’m not saying byrne DOESNT Have talent.. because that would just be an ignorant statement.. he’s got WORLDS of talent.. its his attitude that stinks.

I don’t know about anyone else, but following the conversation here on the board is kind of confusing, as many comments appear to refer to earlier postings that have been removed by, well, who knows?Me, I don’t care who Still Da Man is, or Judy Hansel, or even Matthew Hansel.I wish the three of you would just take it outside, or at least somewhere else.If you want to be civil, welcome aboard, but otherwise…

JB does not allow anonymous posting because it makes the environment less civil. He doesn’t suffer fools lightly (nor should fools be suffered!). I’ve been interacting with JB for decades online (back in the AOL board days) and I’ve never found him to be anything less than civil, fair and intelligent (and massively talented, too!).Most of the “Bad Byrne” stories are simply not true or are GREAT exaggerations of events told by fanboys to gain their “street cred” in whatever fan-circle they travel================

Funny you should say that he “doesnt suffer fools lightly” because MOST of the people that criticize him and… according to YOU .. he would brand as “fools”, are the very same people who buy his work and provide him with the living he has been accustomed to… the FANS! apparently, whether youre a fan or not, if your opinions dont quite gel with his, then you are branded the fool.

as for your personal interaction with the man, well kudos for you that youve found a “kindred soul” who has nothing but disdain for those whose opinions differ from their own (re: “the fools” mentioned above).

and your comment as to the “bad byrne stories” being untrue or GREAT exagerrations told by fanboys to “get their street cred”… this, apparently, is acceptable terminology for creators towards their fans/non-fans regardless of the reasons they came up with the conclusions. how would it strike you, i wonder, to discover that my information is not only taken from various websites across the internet with posters having the same opinion of byrne, and quoting specific instances where byrne hold disdain for the fans/readers… as well as those of certain CREATORS/WRITERS i am frineds with who also corraborate the “exagerrated stories” of byrne?

like that oh so famous saying goes..and i paraphrase here.. “Fifty million elvis fans cant be wrong”. i could see if it were one or two or even a few dozen spread out across websites posting byrne bashing comments, but the abundance of instances and documented animosty towards those who dont agree with him says CHAPTERS on the man.

what would you say about a writer/artist who was tasked by the company he worked for to create a team of antagonists for a few issues of a crossover story in one of the biggest selling comics of the time, and later they again task him with a monthly on-going series for that self-same team… and he goes on public record claiming that he absolutely HATED the team and the characters he created from the very beginning?

if thats the way they felt, then why even bother agreeing to the terms and the tasks mentioned? was he desperate for the cash? somehow i doubt it.

in my opinion, byrne intentionally built in so many various flaws wihtin alpha flight that they didnt stand a CHANCE of surviving for as long as they did in the first series (130+ issues.. over 100 issues AFTER byrne had left the title)

but like i had said before, i would NEVER deny byrne the recognition he deserves for his amazing talent… its his attitude i could do without

Just to review:SDM and MPH alternate posts yesterday, back and forth, most of them spaced 1-2 minutes apart.SDM then says he’ll leave the Dick Tracy page forever if Otto leaves, too.Otto calls SDM’s bluff and says he’ll leave, too (and he has).Now SDM can’t come back here without embarrassing himself. Again.So what happens?Matthew Hansel, who has insisted again and again that he does not read this strip anymore, suddenly shows up today to litter this comment section with his posts.Much like SDM has been doing for months. I’ll allow the posters to make their own conclusions. I know what mine is.

Matthew, I am going to take you up on your latest boast. I am not the person you think. There once was a Judy_Hansel , but spelled her logon name differently. I seriously think you would spend your last dime stalking me and that would not be a good thing. I think you are going through life with a “cause”, much like Don Quixote. But if I had to put money on the line, I think Don has a more attainable goal. You said that my posting here is the reasoning behind your rants; it’s why you come here. Hundreds of people read that. So, I am going to play the part of the Pied Piper, and disappear – hopefully, with the rats in tow. Maybe it will be a good thing for the forum. I have tried to be civil, but I am not willing to deal with a potential threat to myself or my family. It’s not worth it.

All I do know is I haven’t seen an issue worth all this stressing out about between these posters yet…….they should all be charter members of the"Get A Life" club if you ask me…let’s do what we all originally came here for….exchange opinions on the strip!. _____
