….here’s my version of how the story should end….Tracy gets wind of what’s going on, and dresses as the Knight and Liz as Pirahna, and they kick some major butt…….surprise, Broadway and Belle!
Richard better keep his glitter pen handy, slyly referencing the Sherpa Police Limit strip of 25 November.http://www.gocomics.com/policelimit/2012/11/25
It’s a good thing David is a little wary in panel 3, because Stephanie is totally caught up in her fictional fantasy of being a crime-fighting superhero, when in fact she is a rather ordinary girl, perhaps with a modicum of gymnastic skill, but hardly fit to cope with the ambush dastardly Belle and Broadway have prepared for her and CK. Her life may depend on whether or not David calls Tracy first for real cop back-up, or not….
1. Piranha is a blonde at the Toronto Star site, saw that yesterday.2. One of the funniest lines in the comic, “I have a big trunk” to hold the money" Every comic villain has the comic pouch in his or he pants that holds everything. So Piranha and Cinnamon are just showing their lack of experience.
Good Morning Detectives!I’m hoping David and Tracy set up some sort of partnership in a way for an occasion like this. Dick knew Broadway had it out for “costumes” and probably let David know that during their rooptop meeting. That could be the lone explanation for Dick not arresting David that night.
I thought Piranha/Stephaione was a blonde, as well. As others have pointed out, she seems caught up in her fantasy world, while David/Knight seems wary.Maybe if they survive this, David will join the police force.
As far as Belle, she reminds me a lot of Harley Quinn.
I had said previously that David was a good looking big ole boy, handsome face, big shoulders, decent haircut and all that, but his sweetheart Stephanie is another story altogether. Although in panel 3 she is somewhat cute while panel 2 her face reminds me why she probably enjoys dress up. I am old now not so cute so to speak and just have a weird and wonderful weakness for judging cartoon characters. I also like Rip Haywire, which just may be related to DT. Rip’s creator (Dan Thompson) has captured the square jaw look in such a real cool way. Rip Haywire and his fox girlfriend and wife, Cobra Carson have gotten my daily reading attention thing. Rip, like DT is a crime fighter and protagonist. If that’s the right word? Anyway, just sayen.
Stephanie’s weakness is her naivete. She actually thinks she can be a real super-hero.If she and David were dealing with an ordinary criminal, they might – through surprise – be able to take them. But up against anyone who’d plan an armored car robbery, they are dangerously out of their league. And with someone as devious (and bloodthirsty) as Broadway, they’re toast. For all the humor in this story, there’s a real undercurrent of impending tragedy.

Robert Lowery played Batman and Johnny Duncan played Robin in a 15-chapter serial in 1949.

That last panel suggests to me what Superman would have looked like if he were African-American.

They’re playing with a loaded gun that doesn’t have a lock on it.

That is a look of unholy glee on Belle’s face, in the first panel. She is looking forward to whatever evil she and Broadway are planning.

This storyline has been on 33 rpm for days. I prefer a 45 myself.

The big trunk is big enough to hold the Piranha Queen? I guess after she is tied and bound, she’ll fit. She’s probably used to that with David anyway.

Depends on what you mean by ‘bust’.
