Over 100 million people in the world are homeless, mostly in places with no social services or charity to help them, and no work to be had….and that includes 35% of India’s population.
A billion people on this planet go hungry and 15 MILLION children die every year of starvation.
I’m not trying to be a downer here…and yeah, I think poor little Windella has her work cut out for her….
But especially at this time of year, I like to remind myself that no matter what I don’t have, I’m grateful to be sitting at a computer, with food in my stomach…
“There’s still leprosy around???”-228,474 new cases in 2010.Mostly in Southeast Asia (156,254) and the Americas (37,740) Brazil for the most part, with about 25,000 more in Africa..It’s easily treated, doesn’t physically do much harm itself when infected and has a long incubation period (as in more than a single week).-One cause of its non elimination is lack of money in part due to people being opposed to allowing poorer nations to compete with the richer nations for low wage jobs like clothing manufacturing. Another is civil unrest forcing nations to spend their resources on things other than the easy cure of many diseases.

Have to watch those laundromats. You can die there. Of boredom, of leprosy, or something.
