Chavez, Ahmenijad, and Castro are proud of their new President. For those that thought Bush was a puppet, get ready for a real Pinocchio. Granted, whoever won the election, the US loses. Finally, fear for your jobs when companies cut back due to higher taxes. Also expect higher prices in the stores when these companies pass on the tax to the people. (The poor will truly get poorer now.)
For those who appeared to believe that having an aggressively ignorant president uninterested in learning, clueless on the rest of the world, and unable to acknowledge any mistakes was a good idea for the past eight years – welcome to the real world, folks, the one that Obama is well suited to lead us in.
The really good news is that now I have most of the political stuff out of my system. After this week I think is done (a few days roasting Obama coming up) I can get on to other things.
This election was just so all-consuming for my family and I that I had to get it out creatively.
That’s good. History has been made. But what about the consequences of this history? Change is going to happen (I guess), but not all change is good. Besides what is the change? Socialism, no thanks.
Nipponkid: What should you do about it? Be active in your politics, if you like socialism and Obama’s policies or if you don’t, let your representatives know it. I plan to do so.
“We need change… and, uh, hope. Yeah, hope and change! Give us change, because I hope for change! YAY!” Fools.
Enough! You Republicans have been the enemies of the American people since 1980, and we are taking our country back. No longer will big oil run things and destroy our planet. No longer will big business make the rich richer and the poor poorer. You lose; we win, and as Henry V said after his amazing victory at Agincourt, “God fought for us.”

I hate to be the proverbial bucket of cold water, but a lot of people thought a new era had dawned when Clinton got elected. Sorry….

For the curious, like Garry Trudeau, I filed this one well in advance.
Unlike Trudeau, I had alternate versions ready to be filed just in case right before deadline.

Since you have the consequences lined up…What should we do about it Macntyn? Since you like complaining.

Okay gang, look, the election is over. We’re not enemies. Let’s just all quiet down.

stpatme, republicans ARE Americans. We are all in the same boat. Clearly you never actually read anything that Abraham Lincoln ever said.

SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE BRAND NEW ERA!

Sorry for the vitriol, Pab.
As to Lincoln, I’ve read some wonderful words from him; it just doesn’t seem like the party he once represented has read much of him since 1932.
runar about 16 years ago
The modern Republican party is no longer the party of Lincoln. How do you think he would feel about the party’s race-baiting tactics?
And if Machtyn has the inside dope on Chavez, Ahmenijad, and Castro, shouldn’t DHS be tapping his phone?
