When my husband was a kid, his Dad would make his lunch once in a while. Therefore, the oatmeal sandwich.

Good thing Calvin isn’t in the UK at the moment as just about all meat is turning out to be horsemeat. Though I notice that nobody was complaining before they found out what they were eating but it would ave given Calvin something to go ballistic about.

She probably used sweet and sour pickles. Everyone one knows that you always use Dill pickles in a squid sandwich.

Try not to gross out your description. Play it up. Make it sound like its the best. Play your cards right and you might hit the jackpot. Future salesman indeed.

Looks like Susie is about to lose her sandwich in panel 3; that would put a smile on Calvin’s face and give him a great story to tell Hobbes when he gets home.

It’s more likely that Calvin waits for Susie to sit down so he can go sit next to her. The better to gross her out.

I didn’t expect much from a fellow who’s name here might be construed as dada—that is, anti-art, the rejection of logic, reason, and saying anything sensible.

I adore roast beef san’s with onions and thousand island dressing and coleslaw and cheese. Also Reubens with very sharp toasted Rye bread. Here in SLC I don’t think that there is anyplace that makes sandwiches like this ….bleah, yuk, ptooey…

All this talk of PB&J, tuna fish and BLT sandwiches (all my favorites) REALLY has me craving at least one of them right now. Darn it! Why does it have to be meatloaf and mashed potato night instead?!? Ah, well. Better luck next time, I guess!

I’ll take the meatloaf & mashed potatoes. I’d take just about anything over PB&J or tuna. In fact, I love salmon sammies.

I like to just take all the components of the sandwich, and build it right before eating it. When you put the ink brine on in the morning, it always soaks the bread up before noon. The squid seems to taste fresher too, when it hasn’t been between two sliced of bread all morning.
