Yes and John, you should cherish every moment, even reshoveling the snow from where the kids laugh and play.

Let’s hear it for Arizona, where snow is only something that I remember from my years of growing up in winter states! :-P

I think I would be more disappointed that I didn’t get to see the kids enjoying themselves. Watching your kids/grandkids have so much fun is one of the great pleasures of life.

This makes me glad I moved from Philly to the beach in NC. Now I have to big “sand shovels” in my garage!

great comics never get old and this is a keeper. WE don’t get much snow in Texas but when we do it is a childs wonderland and no space is safe. Great cartoon, thanks.

It will give John something to do besides ‘harrassing’ Elle with his non-commentary or sticking his ‘size 12 in his mouth’!!!

Thanks for posting that! I did a search for more of his work and enjoyed what I found. I’ve always liked pantomime strips- I may have to pick up one of his books.

I would let my son play before I moved the snow. The way he plowed through it there would sometimes be less when he was done.

This couldn’t happen in today’s world. Kids don’t go outside to play in the snow.. they’re all inside watching TV or playing with their Wii.

My daughter has a 200-foot driveway in Wisconsin, which I may have mentioned before. Once when me son-in-law was sick, I had to roll big garbage cans down (and up – it’s like a very shallow concave parabola) to the highway last month, and the driveway was covered with ice patches and 6+" of snow in places. By now the kids pretty much know that they’re not to mess with the driveway when it’s been cleared a bit. We were unable to drive a car out for 1-2 days for a couple of times in December.

When I was a kid I was playing around and got snow all over the walk. My father handed me a snow shovel and told me “You got snow all over the walkway that I shoveled out; you shovel out the snow!” Two lessons learned that day: 1.) When playing in the snow, do it away from the walkway. 2.) I am responsible to clean up all messes I make.
