Oh, those late night customers. I remember them from when Zeb and I owned a restaurant long ago. Some were real doozies, and from Meg’s “uh-oh”, I suspect this one will be, too. He may come in more because he’s lonely, and wants someone to talk to, than because he wants a dish of beans.
A shorter time than we anticipated, but then there is a “74hour” coming up. All sort of exciting things could happen. There probably some people who know about Maude sharing. She isn’t ostracized. Might be that the doctor uses some of these extra foods as curatives? Oh here I go again. Sorry. Blessed Be
Meg wouldve jumped on a customer during the dead shift. But gave it to Linda…..this should prove intresting :-). Holly was right. She needs to interact. What better way than to interact with tge possibly the most eccentric in endtown?
Ahhhh. The “GRAVEYARD” shift. When good normal folk sleep the real denizens come out. Endtown should be no different. Most may call them “weirdoes” but I always saw them as interesting people. A bit bizarre at times but always interesting to deal with. And if this Hopper is Dennis Hopper then Linda is in for a real experience. The real Dennis Hopper was definitely a character in life. I had dealings one time with one of the Quaids out west. Had the worst attitude towards people I ever saw. He was top of the world and all else should worship him. Really large ego.Now lets get the story rolling on the “Graveyard Shift”. This ought to get good.
If there’s one this that’s endemic to all service industry folks… And I know from experience, you either learn to love or hate people. And from working the late shift it’s usually the latter rather than the former!
“This is where/when Holly got her ‘on the job’ training in the key of empathy.”An interesting possibility. I always assumed that empathy, and compassion were parts of Holly’s makeup before she mutated. I could easily imagine her being born as a warm, open person.
I’m betting Hopper is a crusty old dog who’s got a soft spot for people like Linda. He’ll try her patience at first, but after she warms to him, they’ll forge a friendship based on tolerance and respect.
there is a wreath on the door so not part of mr. Hopper. he could be a lop-ear rabbit who is a bit long of tooth, as they say. Look at Kevin, he is nobodies itty-bunny. But I does remind me of my neighbour’s basset
Before i miss it, happy new year to all my fellow Endtowners from me, Tanna and the rugmice. Looking forward to a wonderful new year and more origionals on my wall. Thanks again fo letting me here!!!

Beautiful and sensitive story.

Well, the guy has a raincoat…..Linda seems more adjusted, certainly extremely civil to Meg.

This looks promising…man, do I wish “Endtown” published on weekends…

Let’s hope Mr. Hopper is not a weirdo. Hope that he is wearing clothes under that trench coat.

Linda does seem calmer. Her expression in panel 3 seems merely amused, not affronted.

Have no fear. From what I can tell, he’s wearing slacks and a shirt under it.

I wonder if Linda was thinking about Maude while she was staring out that window.

Mr. Hopper looks like an eccentric professor type. He also looks like a jackalope.

I think that she and mr.hopper may bond

Isn’t Mr. Hopper the guy Valerie was taking an order from when Linda, er, decided to raise the curtain on the floor show?

Bet he’s either a petty crank or a lecher. Or both.

However the suggestion of “horns” could be a suggestion of his personality. Devilish?

How does Meg see through that hair?
witchspell63 almost 12 years ago
Im thinking Mr Hopper is an ibex or some sort of antelope…maybe a Thompson gazelle?
witchspell63 almost 12 years ago
Wait a tic….those are NOT horns! Hopper is a dog!

I was hoping that Linda and Maude would have made themselves into friends today. Maude really did a nice thing for Linda..

Meg looks like she’s a good co-worker, and Mr. Hopper could prove to be a unique character. This latest avatar is one of my own drawings.
