Woodpeckers contact trees up to 20 times a second and 12,000 times per day! Pule, a cheese from Serbia made from donkey milk, is the most expensive in the world costing more than $1,200 per kilo! Farmer Sun Jifa, Jilin Province, China, spent 8 years constructing bionic hands for himself after losing both arms in an accident!

Interesting story, Gweedo. Apparently he lost his arms by attempting to make a bomb.

Fascinating link, but that article also fails to mention how he managed the construction before he had his first prototype to use in constructing the later ones. Inquiring minds want to know.

As Arte Johson would say verrrrrrrryyyy innnnnttttttteeeee serrrrreeeessttttiiiinnnnnggg about the woodpecker…..saw a woodpecker in a cartoom in Readers’ Digest in ‘77 or ’78 who was pecking on a tree but waearing earmuffs cute huh???…in ’84 I went to the Houston science museum on a field trip in school and saw a woodpecker that’d been killed when it pecked through a pole that had an electrical wire on it..that confused me I thought they were tough birds
