I’ve never seen a racing form. Figured all he had to do was put down x’s. ;)>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>No, it requires great skill to master a racing form or figure out the football pools in England. Andy spends a great deal of time and effort on them but most often comes up short. Whereas, Flo will bet on the jockey’s colors, her favorite number or the animal’s name and win ! So much for the science of the sport !
A “Council Flat” is an apartment (usually in a block) built for and rented out by the local authority. This was originally to allow worse off people in special circumstances to afford accommodation. Housing estates were also built. The house I live in was originally council built but sold off. It was built in the late 1940s and is steel framed..These days the houses on the estate that are still owned by the authority have just had new bathrooms, kitchens etc installed with no cost to the inhabitants. Their rents might increase but not by much.
Just now noticed that Cappman is wearing a mask. Isn’t that a little bit redundant ?^^Well, without the mask, he wouldn’t be in disguise, he’d just be Andy Capp in a parody of Batman’s suit! (Buster is also wearing a Domino mask, just like Robin’s… only, it enables him to actually see THROUGH his hat!)
Incidentally, the Cappmobile is a stretched & rebodied 1959 Austin Mini Mark1 with it’s 34 hp engine bumped up to 36hp, unfortunately, because of it’s heavy armoured body, it has a top speed of 22 mph. The official Cappman logo (top right corner) is a parody of the logo on Batman comics, the “batwings” are made of empty booze bottles, that Cappman emptied himself! The background is an actual photo of the waterfront at Hartlepool, note the masts of a “tall ship” (Schooner) behind the houses!! Between drawing, cutting out the art, cleanup and assembly, that one drawing took me about 8 hours to do! (It might have been faster to draw the BG)
One of the lovable things about ‘square peg’ Andy is his sinister Hand.…the new Writers just don’t exploit that.^^Which is why I do the Reduxes, when AC is particularly bad
Which typeface to You employ? I like the one in the original better than either, tell-the-truth.Handmade would be optimal, but involve a lot of extra, analogue work/steps.^^it’s called Segoe print, the closest thing to hand lettering I’ve found, frankly, if I tried to hand letter it, you’d have a very hard time reading it!
….every pour some Lemonaide in the Snow, and eat some in front of your Friends, to see if They try and stop You?I know I would……^^I’m not the “practical Joker” type… but, I can guarantee my brother would do it!

Good answer Andy, there can’t be much atmosphere in a brightly lit bar with white painted walls, can there? haha

That’s a legitimate reason. He can walk home & won’t be driving while intoxicated.
