Andy: How's your homework coming, Peter? Peter: I'm stuck on a word problem. Andy: I'd offer to help, but it's been a while since I took math. Peter: Math? This is for history class. Andy: Oh, that sort of word problem. Peter: Would it kill Microsoft to include a manual?!

Learn it, and then Microsoft will decide to change it in a year anyway. That’s why I only update software when I absolutely have to—apparently the Microsoft engineers think people have nothing better to do than learn new software every year or so. And don’t even get me started on the expense.

@cubefarmer / @ajr58, while MS doesn’t offer Word for iFruit’s, they do for iMacs :-)

It’s called the help section for a reason. I know one person that completely taught themselves how to use the whole Office suite by using Help and just playing around, then she went and got her IT degree.

I was thinking Microsoft doesn’t make manuals for Macs, but I guess they do make MS Office for Macs.

I remember when they stopped including a paper manual – around Word 6 for Mac, so around 1994. The manual for Word 5.1 was already a book.

They did include a manual. DOS 6.

Before Windows, Microsoft used to include a manual. I don’t know when they decided they didn’t need to include it any more.

The spell checker drives me up the wall sometimes, and if it doesn’t, then I go to my dad for help since he loves to play editor on my papers for my classes.

You need a manual for a word processor?
